Human rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease, characterized by persistent or recurrent synovitis involving peripheral joints. Chronic rheumatoid arthritis is associated with severe destruction of cartilage and bone erosion, resulting in joint deformities. Long-term treatment with available anti-arthritic drugs show severe undesirable effects and toxicity like gastric ulcer, hormonal imbalance etc. So, we aim to evaluate anti-arthritic property of common medicinal plants and bio-active compounds on collagen induced arthritic mice.
